Size Matters: Choosing the right-sized condom for you
Condoms — everyone tells us we have to use them. But has anyone told you how to choose the right one?

Not all penises are created equal, so putting on a condom isn’t like wearing a one-size-fits-all-shirt. In fact, picking the right condom is a lot like shopping for the perfect running shoe: you need to know your length, width, and comfort level to make sure your kicks fit snug like a glove.
Reality is, most men suffer from wearing a condom that is either too large or too small (check out this Men’s Health article), settling for a lackluster protected sexual experience without realizing that it could be so much better with a condom that fits oh so right.
A 2010 study from The Kinsey Institute for Research on Sex, Gender, and Reproduction in Indiana found that ill-fitting condoms more than double your risk of losing an erection, give you (and your partner) more trouble climaxing, and might even lead to the condom breaking or slipping — lowering this contraceptive’s effectiveness. Oh, and did we mention how uncomfortable a condom can be when it’s a tad too tight?
So stop the guesswork when it comes to penile size and know your member’s exact inches (or millimeters). But keep in mind that the most important measurement for picking a condom is girth, not length. Mind. Blown.
Before you bust out your tape measure, try this popular (and practical) way of determining your size: Grab the cardboard tube of an empty toilet paper roll and slide it over a full hard-on. If there’s extra room, your best bet is a smaller condom. Just enough room means a medium sized condom will do, and if the cardboard tube is too tight for you, opt for a large.
And if the idea of slipping your cock through a cardboard tube is a little too much for you, then why not try the fruit n’ veg test? This Taiwanese design student’s condom prototype lets men — vegan and non-vegan alike — compare penis size with similarly proportioned produce. Once you’ve determined your numbers, you can then move on to mixing and matching — condoms, that is. Find your perfect match by using the site’s Condom Size Calculator.
