Virginal breast hypertrophy (VBH)

The sole purpose of this group is to study a condition known as macromastia:
Virginal breast hypertrophy (VBH) is the common name for the medical condition juvenile macromastia and juvenile gigantomastia. This condition causes a woman's breasts to grow rapidly to an excessive weight lesions during puberty. Breast hypertrophy in pregnancy is rare. The main symptoms of VBH are red, itchy lesions and pain in the breasts.

Generally, a female is diagnosed with VBH when her breasts grow rapidly and achieve great weight soon after the her first menstrual period. Some doctors suggest that breast development (thelarche) occurs before menstrual onset (menarche).[1]

Some women with VBH experience breast growth at a constant rate for several years, but the breasts overdevelop from normal and healthy breasts. And others experience minimal or negligible breast growth before their the breasts grow rapidly in a short period of time. This causes great physical discomfort.

Women suffering VBH often experience an excessive growth of their nipples.
